What to Prepare

  • It is highly recommended you have some familiarity with the Into The Woods Broadway (many performances available on YouTube).
  • It's fine if you've seen the 2014 movie. However, understand there are many major differences.
  • All auditions will include singing the provided ensemble excerpt from the Opening.
  • You will also sing a pre-selected excerpt for the specific character(s) you wish to be considered for.
  • Each excerpt will be provided on the materials page after characters selection. Please prepare with the provided pre-cut track (no live accompanist will be used).
  • Memorization is not necessary; sheet music will be available to read from at the audition.
  • If you audition for multiple roles, you may be asked to sing more than one character excerpt.
  • There is no need to prepare a monologue. We will provide short scenes from the show (called 'sides') for you to read at the audition.
